Understanding and Treating Trauma: Developmental and Neurological Approaches
"Catastrophic fear results in a variety of clinical symptoms which depend on pre-existing autonomic and cognitive coping strategies and the subjective meaning of trauma itself.This program addresses our understanding of neurophysiology, cognitive alteration, rapid assessment and psychotherapy of traumatized patients. An extensive syllabus will be provided to registrants. Presentations summarize research findings in the area of attachment, brain and cognition, neurobiology of emotional development, developmental psychopathology, treatment of incest, abuse and other traumas."
