Roots of Psychopathology: Theory & Practice (France)
Description While we all share essentially similar therapeutic goals, we may have very different views of the bedrock of issues of psychopathology which affect our treatment interventions. Some o fthe most vigorous reconsiderations of psychoanalytic theories have been occurring within psychoanalytic circles in France. This conference will enable participants to explore some of these important ideas that are at the cutting edge of American and French psychoanalysis.
After completion of this program listeners will be able to:
1. Describe the effect of the Oedipal complex on identification.
2. Define autistic shapes in object relations.
3. Discuss ways the autistic child interacts with autistic shapes.
