Join us for a collaborative afternoon with Caroline Welch and Bonnie Goldstein as our community comes together to celebrate Caroline’s new book, The Gift of Presence, A Mindfulness Guide for Women.

Caroline Welch will discuss four innate capacities that foster resiliency and help our clients experience more calm and less chaos in their lives: Presence, Purpose, Pivoting, and Pacing.  She will explore the challenges and difficulties that get in our way and highlight why informal practices are as important as formal ones.  Through this workshop, attendees will foster the ability to help themselves and their clients remain firmly in the present moment, to find and live aligned with our life’s purposes, to shift directions with courage when need be, and to take life one step at a time, moving away from trying to do it all, all at once.

Bonnie Goldstein joins Caroline in exploring the particular challenges therapists face when working with younger clients and their families who are struggling to attain the skills of mindfulness and self-reflective shifts-in-state.  Through the lens of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy illuminating the somatic narrative, Bonnie will introduce ways that mental health professionals and clients can understand and use their use their own somatic intelligence in the therapeutic process as a guide for helping to heal the disconnection between body and mind; working with implicit memory-our sensations, perceptions, emotions and actions, which create the foundation for the way we remember experiences-she will use clinical vignettes and short video segments to illustrate treatment.
